Video: A message on rural crime from ACC Deborah Smith

Dear resident of Wiltshire,

I would like to take the opportunity to speak to you about what Wiltshire Police is doing to tackle rural crime as the portfolio holder of local policing and specialist operations.

We have dedicated this week to raising awareness for reporting rural crime in our county as we continue our commitment to preventing this type of crime and bringing offenders to justice.

Wiltshire Police has seen an 8.9 per cent increase in reports of rural crime this year and it is an issue we are treating seriously.

My ask of you is that you continue to report rural crime to us either online, by calling 101 (or 999 if the crime is in progress) or by approaching an officer.
