Alert message sent 24/10/2018 15:37:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We are investigating a series of thefts of power tools from vehicles in Amesbury and are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Throughout October, we have had five separate reports of thefts of tools worth over £7,000 in total.

Incidents have occurred in Finnis Road and Thurlow Road on 4 October, Princess Way on 12 October, Winterbourne Earls between 12 and 13 October and Carpenter Drive sometime between 12 and 16 October.

Tools stolen from vehicles include a Metabo power hacksaw, drill drivers, STS drill, FS 360 orange Stihl strimmer, HS 45 orange Stihl strimmer, electric test kit, Makita battery drills, nail guns, deWalt drill, grey Honda lawnmower and skill saw.

We would like to hear from anyone who may have been offered tools for sale or seen tools for sale on social media over the past few weeks.

We are increasing patrols in the area following this spate of thefts and would encourage residents to ensure valuables are removed from their vehicles overnight, or prolonged periods of time when your vehicle is not in use. This will help reduce the risk of you falling victim to this type of crime.

Anyone with information should call 101 and ask for information to be passed to local crime investigator Rhiannon Williams or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
