Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

A man has sadly died following a collision in Lowden Hill, Chippenham, in the early hours of this morning.

At approximately 3.30am today (Sunday 11 November), a collision occurred between a pedestrian and a Black Vauxhall Vectra which had been travelling east along Lowden Hill towards A4 Bath Road.

We were called by the ambulance service to the incident and the male pedestrian, aged in his 30s, was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.

Sadly he died from his injuries. His family are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

The road was closed for several hours while collision investigators attended the scene. It reopened at approximately 7.30am.

We would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time of the collision who has a dashcam fitted to their vehicle.

Please call 101 and quote log number 64 of November 11.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
