Highworth - garage break-ins

Alert message sent 10/12/2018 15:34:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We're asking garage owners in the Highworth and surrounding area to be extra vigilant after a series of recent break-ins.

Overnight between Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 December, a number of detached garages in Highworth and the surrounding area was broken into and items stolen.

This included a group of garages in the Sevenfields area of the town and items stolen included: a blue and white Giant mountain bike, a white cordless drill, two un-named mountain bikes and some number plates.

In most cases the garages were detached from a house and the locks were forced by unknown means.

PC Angela Holden said: "We would urge garage owners - whether the building is detached or not from your home - to be extra vigilant and to check you have adequate security in place.

"We will be carrying out targeted patrols on all blocks of garages within Highworth and the surrounding rural villages, however, we need your help; if you hear or see anything suspicious or anyone acting suspiciously then please contact us on 101."

Alternatively, you can report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
