Two vehicle collision at West Ashton crossroads - appeal for information

We are appealing for anyone who may have dash cam footage of a collision on the West Ashton crossroads to get in touch.

The two vehicle collision, involving a Seat Ibiza and a Skoda Rapid, happened at approximately 12.40pm on 15 December.

The Seat Ibiza had been travelling from the direction of Melksham turning right towards Trowbridge, and the Skoda Rapid was travelling in the opposite direction from Yarnbrook towards Melksham when the collision occurred.

The female driver of the Skoda, who is aged in her 80s, was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath after suffering pain to her ribs and arm.

Sergeant Scott Barrett said: “We are investigating this collision and are keen to speak to anyone who either witnessed what happened, or anyone who may have dash-cam footage from their vehicle which could help with our investigation.

“Both vehicles sustained significant damage and one driver was taken to hospital. Fortunately, nobody in the Seat Ibiza suffered serious injuries.”

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54180118594 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
