Man injured in fatal A36 crash near Warminster has died in hospital

A man who was injured in a fatal crash on the A36 near Warminster last week has sadly died in hospital.

The 62-year-old man from the Bath area, who was the driver of a Porsche Cayenne, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, following the collision close to Black Dog Hill on Tuesday 18 December 2018.

Sadly, his injuries were so severe that he died yesterday evening (Sunday 23 December 2018).

His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

The two-vehicle collision happened at around 1.06pm on 18 December 2018, and involved a black Porsche Cayenne and a grey Peugeot, which were both travelling in the direction of Bath.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 34-year-old woman, who was pregnant and from the Warminster area, sustained significant injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Tragically, her unborn baby also died as a result of the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dash-cam footage of either vehicle beforehand should contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Log 144 of Tuesday 18 December. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
