Bike given as Christmas present stolen on Boxing Day in Salisbury

A bike which was given to a 12-year-old boy as a Christmas present was stolen on Boxing Day.

The bike was left outside Sports Direct in Churchill Way, Salisbury, at approximately 2pm while the boy went into the shop to buy a bike lock.

The suspect was spotted with the bike and was chased towards The Maltings but lost from sight under Sainsbury’s car park.

He is described as white, aged in his late 20s, with some stubble. He was wearing a grey or brown Parka coat, blue jeans and a flat cap.

The bike, pictured, is a red Carrera Hellcat mountain bike, and is worth approximately £260.

PC Matt Holland said: “This incident has understandably left this young boy really upset – it had been given to him as a present by his older brother.

“We’d like to hear from anyone who may know who is responsible, or anyone who may have information about where the bike may be.”

Call 101 and quote crime reference number 54180121845.
