Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We are appealing for information following a collision in Salisbury.

At approximately 3.40pm on Thursday 10 January, a 12-year-old boy got off a bus in Westwood Road adjacent to Rambridge Crescent, and then started to cross the road but was struck by a car.

He sustained some bruising to his right leg but no serious injuries.

The vehicle that struck him is described as a small red coloured car – the driver is described as an older white man with an older woman in the front passenger seat.

The driver got out of the vehicle and checked on the boy but didn’t exchange any details and drove off from the scene.

PC Jim Brown said: “It is likely that someone would have seen this incident – we are keen to hear from anyone who either witnessed it or anyone who has dash cam footage.

“The driver left the area along Westwood Road and was then lost to sight.

“Fortunately, the young boy did not suffer any serious injury – he went to Salisbury District Hospital as a precaution but was released the same evening.”

Call 101 and quote crime reference number 541900003159.
