Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

A Swindon woman has been arrested following a County Lines drugs' operation carried out in the Stratton St Margaret area of Swindon.

Yesterday (31/01) around 2pm, officers from the Dedicated Crime Team attended Claridges Pool off the Swindon Road following reports of drug dealing taking place in the area.

A 46-year-old woman from Swindon was stopped and found to be in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine, heroin and an amount of cash.  She was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and later released under investigation while our enquiries continue.

PC Simon Sanghera said:  "This is a good example of local people spotting a suspicious incident or drug deal taking place and reporting it to us immediately so we can do something about it as quickly as possible.
"The message remains the same; if you believe people in your community to be dealing drugs or you are concerned for someone's vulnerability and safety as they maybe being used by a drugs' gang, please contact us on 101 or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
