Man arrested following incident in Newtown Trowbridge last night

Alert message sent 02/03/2019 09:37:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

Many residents will have noticed a large police presence in the Newtown area of Trowbridge last night – specifically in the area of Bond Street. We received a number of calls from the public at approximately 8.30pm reporting concerns around the behaviour of a man at an address in the area.
Due to the nature of these concerns, a number of specially trained officers, including armed officers and the dog unit attended the scene.
We arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear. He remains in custody in Melksham for questioning at this time.
