Boy in critical condition after collision in Chippenham

A 12-year-old boy is in a critical condition after being involved in a collision with a car in Chippenham this morning.

We were called to Hill Rise at around 9.40am today (19/03/19) following a collision between a car and a young cyclist.

The boy was taken to Bristol Children's Hospital with serious injuries and is in a critical condition.

His family have been informed and have been taken to hospital to be with the boy.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is assisting us with our enquiries.

Hill Rise is currently closed and is likely to remain so for a number of hours while investigative work takes place.

Anyone with information is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting Log 69 of today (19/03/19).
