Alert message sent 24/03/2019 20:29:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

A motorcyclist has died following a collision near Chilmark this afternoon.

We were called to the stretch of the B3089 Salisbury Road, between Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop, at 3.50pm today (24/03/19).

The road traffic collision involved an orange Honda motorcycle.

The rider, a man in his 60s, was sadly declared dead at the scene.

His family have been informed and are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer. Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.

The road is currently still closed while investigation work takes place.

We would ask anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the motorcycle beforehand, including anyone who may have dash cam footage, to call the Wiltshire Police Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting log 216 of today (24/03/19). Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
