Vehicles Seized in Warminster

Wiltshire Police have seized two vehicles in unrelated incidents in Warminster.

On the 16th May 2019, on Upper Marsh Road, Warminster Police officers located a female driving a vehicle which had been shown as having no tax. Police brought the vehicle to a stop and the driver was found to be a provisional licence holder.
Following further checks on the motor vehicle, it showed as having no insurance the vehicle was seized by Police, and the driver will be dealt with for the offences at a later date.

Later that evening , officers were alerted to a vehicle being driven without insurance in Warminster. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, which initially failed to stop. A short pursuit took place and the vehicle was brought safely to a stop. The driver, a 17 year old male from Warminster, was arrested within minutes for failing to stop for police, driving otherwise in accordance with his licence, and driving without insurance. The driver was taken to Melksham custody and has since been released under investigation. His vehicle was seized by police at the scene.

Warminster police would like to remind all road users that it is their responsibility to ensure any vehicle being driven on the road is taxed, insured and has a valid MOT.  Driving without the appropriate Licence puts your community at risk of serious harm. This sends a clear message to the public that vehicles will be seized and anyone driving them will be dealt with.

Anyone who has information about drivers or vehicles of concern, can easily and quickly report on line. Please provide as much detail as possible including dates, times, vehicle and description driver  -  www.wiltshire.police.uk
