Alert message sent 08/06/2019 09:38:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

Searches are continuing today (8/6/19) for Robert Dunn who has been missing for over a week.

The 30-year-old was last seen by his family in the Marlborough area on Wednesday 29 May 2019.

A van which he had been renting has been found near Savernake Forest so search efforts continue in that area.

Robert is described as white, with short light brown hair. It was initially thought that he may have been wearing a pink t-shirt, but this has now been located, so we believe he was wearing a grey vest and shorts.

Acting Inspector Pete Foster, from Wiltshire East Community Policing Team, said: "The local community in the Savernake area may see an increased police presence as large teams of specially trained officers, police dogs, and colleagues from Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WILSAR) carry out searches in the forest.

"These searches are carefully planned and coordinated in order to maximise opportunities to find Robert, we appreciate the public want to help but we ask that people stay away from the area so we can focus our efforts.

"We appreciate that this is a popular area for walkers/dog walkers but please respect the cordons that will be in place. We thank the public in advance for their ongoing understanding and support."

"We are working closely with Robert's family who are very worried about him, if you have seen Robert or have any information please contact us urgently."

Robert's family issued a direct plea: "Rob - if you are reading this please contact someone to let them know you are safe and well."

Anyone with information should call Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting reference 54190052873.
