Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested following a disorder in Queens Park, Swindon.

At approximately 4.45pm on July 22, a fight broke out in the park involving approximately 20 youths who are all believed to be from the local area.

Crime Investigator Denise Mann said: “We believe this was a prearranged fight between two groups of young people.

“This was a violent incident and it is believed one of those involved was using a belt as a weapon during the incident.

“We will not tolerate behaviour of this kind.  With the school holidays beginning, our parks will no doubt be full of young children and families who could have been caught up in the incident and would no doubt have been frightened and intimidated by this kind of behaviour.

“We’d urge anyone who witnessed this disorder to get in touch via 101 if they have not already done so.”

A 14-year-old boy from Swindon was arrested on suspicion of affray and has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190071743. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if preferred.
