Appeal for witnesses following break in at Tesco Express Chippenham

We are urgently appealing for witnesses following a break-in at Tesco Express, Chippenham. 

At approximately 5.10am this morning (Thursday 15 August), four men broke in through the front doors of the store in Hathaway Retail Park. 

Once inside the store, the men broke open cash boxes and stole approximately £3,400 cash before quickly fleeing the scene when the alarm sounded.

PC James Isaacs said: “All four men had their faces covered and were wearing dark clothing. They were carrying crowbars and sledgehammers at the time.

“I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident - maybe you were walking or driving past the area, or any businesses in the area who may have CCTV footage of the individuals, or details of any vehicles that may have been used. 

“We would also like to urge local people and businesses to remain vigilant and report any suspiciously activity to 101 or 999 in an emergency.”
