Alert message sent 06/04/2020 14:52:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted outside a Marks and Spencer store in Trowbridge.

At approximately 11.50am on Friday 3 April, the woman was queuing outside the shop on County Way when a blue Nissan Micra pulled up in to one of the child and parent  parking spaces; a man then got out and walked straight in to the store ignoring the queue.

The woman decided to take a photo of the car before entering the store herself.

She completed her shopping and left the shop, walking past the Nissan Micra.  As she did this two women got out of the car - the first one started shouting at her while the second one grabbed her hair and punched her in the head.   They both then got back in to the car which was driven off by the man.

The man is described as white, aged between 40 and 50-years-old and of large build.

The first woman is described as white, short, slim, and around 40-years-old with brown hair.  The second woman is described as white and approximately 16-20-years-old.

PC Alan Paterson said: "We'd like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this assault.  This was a busy area with quite a few people around; if you were in the queue or in this vicinity at the time please come forward.
"Luckily, the victim was unhurt but understandably very shaken up about it.
"If you know anything about this incident please contact us on 101 quoting crime reference number 54200032591."
