Crime - Violence Against the Person

HALIFAX ROAD, MELKSHAM, (ED12) at approximately  1800 hours  the victim, who is partially blind, has been out walking her guide dog. She advised a person to keep their distance, and suspect has come up to the victim and coughed in her face and then walked off.  Enquiries are continuing.

Crime – Possession of Weapon offences

SEMMINGTON ROAD, MELKSHAM, (ED11) A vehicle has been stopped by officers and the driver was found to have no insurance, driving a motor vehicle over the prescribed limit and being in possession of a knife.  The vehicle the driver was using was also seized.
Douglas Robert WARD, aged 43 from Melksham has been charged and bailed to Salisbury Magistrates Court for 15th May 2020,  with driving a motor vehicle whilst over the prescribed limit, possession of a knife blade/ sharply pointed article  in a public place and using a motor vehicle.

Crime - Theft

RUSKIN AVENUE, MELKSHAM, (ED12) Overnight between the hours of 2145 on 02/04/20 to 0914 on 03/04/20 offenders have entered the rear garden of the address and stole a quad bike.

LYSANDER ROAD, MELKSHAM, (ED12) Sometime between the 3rd and 4th April an offender has approached an unattended vehicle and stole the 4 fuel injectors.

We have also had calls into the police regarding the use of Mini Moto/pit bikes.  These bikes are not road legal and cannot be used on a public highway or pavement.  The people using these bikes are not insured.  These vehicles can be used on private land with the land owners permission.  Patrols are being conducted.
