Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire and Swindon NHW

Wiltshire Neighbourhood Watch Association
Dear Members,
As NHW Week and National Volunteers' Week 1st-7th June overlap, it offers me an opportunity in my role as Chair of Wiltshire NHW to extend my gratitude on behalf of the Association to all scheme co-ordinators and members for your support of NHW and wanting to make the area where you live as crime-free and as safe as possible, at the same time, instilling confidence across your local community.
Since March 2020 we have all faced challenging and difficult times and now remain hopeful that some semblance of normality will return as soon as possible.  In the meantime, our Association continues to work closely with Wiltshire Police in our shared vision to strengthen neighbourhood policing.
Our Association is very mindful of how it connects with local schemes and all members and to this end eagerly anticipates the launch of our new website in July.  We clearly want our prime social media platform to be informative and interesting and there will be an emphasis on its regular update.  One element of the website will be a Members' Stories page which it is hoped will stimulate interest and discussion.  Our Association is keen to recruit a volunteer to the committee whose role will be Social Media and Website Administrator.  If you have the requisite skills, interest and experience do let me know.  Happy to discuss...
I would like to take this opportunity to raise awareness of the national NHW Network established in 2017 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation regulated by the Charity Commission.  I would urge all members', if you haven't already, to visit its website  Click on News and Events to read June's edition of Our News which includes reference to the initiative 'Listen, Talk, Do' with suggested activities you might wish to do with local scheme members including links to various crime prevention podcasts.  The site is extensive and includes information aimed at supporting scheme co-ordinators and members.
One other suggestion is to consider revamping NHW street signage in your area.  If it's old, possibly with the 'blue helmet' logo, you may wish to refresh with the new design logo.  The laminate overlay signs are ideal to cover old signage.  If interested and would like more information have a look at our Association's current website
Once again, thank-you for all that you do to support your local community.
