NHW scheme co-ordinators request to contact your local Community Police Team

Alert message sent 22/02/2022 20:26:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire and Swindon NHW

As the Wiltshire county Neighbourhood Watch Association, Wiltshire NHW eagerly anticipates the publication of the Police and Crime Commissioner's Police and Crime Plan 2022-25 which will be presented to the Wiltshire Police and Crime Panel on the 10th March. The draft plan clearly highlightes the PCC's desire to strengthen links between Wiltshire Police and local communities. This initiative is welcomed by Wiltshire NHW and our Association has been requested to encourage NHW scheme co-ordinators to contact their local Community Police Team (CPT) to introduce themselves to enable opportunities for NHW members and their  Neighbourhood Police Teams to work together in support of community safety. Wiltshire Police readily acknowledge the value of members of the public contacting the police to communicate a broad range of information that supports crime prevention, detection and community safety.
Contact with your local CPT is easy...just go to www.wiltshire.police.uk  On the homepage you will see a link to 'Your CPT - About Us'. This link identifies the eight CPT's in Wiltshire and each one is listed clearly. For example, if you live in the Amesbury CPT this will enable you to contact the CPT on AmesburyAreaCPT@wiltshire.police.uk
This page also enables users to report a crime as well as access a map of crimes in the Amesbury area.
Just as importantly, there is also a link to the Amesbury CPT Facebook and Twitter sites which are regularly updated with relevant information to Amesbury.
Each of the eight CPT's across Wiltshire can be contacted in similar fashion.
This message invites NHW scheme co-ordinators to take the small step of contacting your local CPT by way of introduction. There are some great examples of collaboration between Wiltshire Police and NHW schemes which both organisations wish to build on.
If you require any clarification or discussion, do not hesitate to contact me.
