GPS thefts - remain vigilant

Dear Resident,

GPS thefts – remain vigilant

Unfortunately there have been reports of GPS thefts in neighbouring counties. Wiltshire Police would like to remind those using GPS systems on their tractors to remove them and store them securely to prevent theft.

Further guidance includes:

👉 Activate PIN security on GPS kit with your own unique number

👉 Mark your GPS – either by marking your postcode on it or by using a forensic property marking kit to make the item identifiable to you

👉 Store tractors with GPS installed securely

👉 Remove GPS systems from your tractors when not in use overnight or during the day and store securely, separate to the tractor

👉 Record serial numbers and photograph your kit to increase chances of reuniting you with it in the event it is stolen

👉 Lock all gates at night to deter opportunists

👉 Report any sightings of suspicious activity around farmland to police

Rural crimes can be reported to the police by calling 101 or via the website, or anonymously to Crimestoppers

Always call 999 if a crime is in progress.
