| Be safe this Halloween and Bonfire Weekend | ||
| Hello Resident, As Wiltshire gets ready for Halloween celebrations and Bonfire Night events, we are encouraging everyone to enjoy themselves safely and responsibly. Halloween and Bonfire Night are fantastic opportunities for families and friends to come together, but we know they can also lead to an increase in anti-social behaviour, noise and firework-related incidents. Wiltshire Police is asking all residents to look out for one another and make safety a priority this weekend. Out and about this Halloween If you’re trick-or-treating, heading to a party, or just out enjoying the evening, please remember: Be respectful of those who do not wish to take part. Households can display a “No Trick or Treat” poster. There are different designs available and can be downloaded from our Halloween page. They are also attached with this message. Plan your route and stay in well-lit areas. Keep an eye on younger children and ensure they’re accompanied by a responsible adult. If you’re driving, please slow down and be extra cautious as there may be pedestrians crossing roads unexpectedly. Bonfire and firework safety Bonfire and Firework nights brings spectacular displays, but fireworks can be dangerous if not handled properly. Before lighting any fireworks, check out our Fireworks page, which explains how to celebrate safely and within the law. Key reminders: Keep pets indoors and away from loud noises. Respect your neighbours, particularly those who may be elderly, vulnerable or have sensory concerns. Reporting issues If you experience anti-social behaviour or unsafe activity: Call 999 in an emergency. Report non-urgent matters online at www.wiltshire.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/ or by calling 101. If you are celebrating, have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
