Wiltshire Police Urge Vigilance After Spate of Burglaries in the Marlborough & Ramsbury areas |

Wiltshire Police are urging communities to be extra vigilant following burglaries across the east of the county. The incidents, which occurred between December 8 and December 15, have involved three men dressed in dark clothing and face coverings, approaching large country properties across fields, carrying out targeted searches when the victims are out, between 5.30pm and 9pm. Safe’s containing jewellery and cash to the value of £600,000 have been forced open or stolen in the burglaries which have taken place in areas surrounding Marlborough and Ramsbury. Detective Inspector Steve Edwards said: ““As you’d imagine, these break-ins have caused considerable distress with sentimental items taken from both properties. We believe these incidents may be linked to an organised crime group targeting isolated estates, as the burglaries appear to be highly sophisticated and offending both inside and outside of Wiltshire’s borders. "The offenders have specifically targeted safes containing high-value items such as jewellery and cash.
