Wiltshire Police Urge Vigilance After Spate of Burglaries in the Marlborough & Ramsbury areas |

Wiltshire Police are urging communities to be extra vigilant following multiple burglaries across the east of the county. The incidents, which occurred between December 8 and December 15, have involved men dressed in dark clothing and face coverings carrying out targeted searches of empty properties between 5.30pm and 9pm. Jewellery to the value of £600,000 have been stolen in the burglaries and a Land Rover, which was found parked nearby the following day. Detective Inspector Steve Edwards, who leads the Burglary team, said: ““As you’d imagine, these break-ins have caused considerable distress, due to the extremely sentimental items taken from both properties. We believe these incidents may be linked to an organised crime group targeting isolated estates, as the burglaries appear to be highly sophisticated. "The offenders have specifically targeted safes containing high-value items such as jewellery and cash.
