Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

Four people were arrested and a quantity of Class A drugs, money and mobile phones were seized as part of a County Lines investigation in Salisbury.

Officers and staff from Wiltshire South Community Policing Team carried out a number of address checks in the Salisbury area on Saturday (30/03/19), focusing on disrupting County Lines drug dealing, and protecting vulnerable people who are subjected to cuckooing.

We also worked with Wiltshire Council to issue closure orders on a number of premises, to try to assist in cracking down on drug dealing.

We visited nine addresses and the intelligence we gathered throughout the day led to us going to a flat in Essex Square, Salisbury, where local people had witnessed suspicious activity, including lots of people coming and going.

Officers arrested four males, aged between 17 and 19, from Kent, Essex, London and Buckinghamshire, on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

They also seized a quantity of what is believed to be Class A drugs, money and mobile phones.

Two of those arrested, including one under 18, were missing people who were deemed vulnerable and at risk of exploitation.

All four have been released under investigation while our enquiries are ongoing.

Sergeant Mike Standing, from Wiltshire South Community Policing Team, said: "It is through the hard work of the officers involved and the willingness of local residents to assist that this drugs network has been disrupted.

"The supply of Class A drugs has a hugely detrimental effect on our communities and those individuals involved.

"This shows how important it is that Wiltshire Police continue to work towards tackling this problem but equally how we need information from the public to assist with this."
