Weekly Crime summary

Crimes will be listed by location under the headings of Salisbury, Alderbury (area traditionally policed from Alderbury Police Stn) and Wilton (area traditionally policed from Wilton Police Stn). 

Please find below a summary of local crimes which have been reported since Sat 30th March (Please note this is a summary, it is not possible to list all crimes due to confidentiality issues e.g. some violent offences or for domestic disputes).

30/03/19 – Theft (o/night) – Brown St Car Park – offender gained entry to van and stole 5 Makita power tools, radio and drill bits
31/03/19 – Theft (over 7 day period) – Coombe Road – offender stole lead flashing from roof of bay window
01/04/19 – Theft (o/night) – Lower Bemerton – offender threw clock radio and smashed rear window of parked vehicle – search made of glove compartment
01/04/19 – Theft (9am-5-30pm) – Ashfield Rd – offender removed and stole grill from Vauxhall Vectra
02/04/19 – Theft (approx. midday) – High Street – offender stole handbag whilst owner was shopping
03/04/19 – Theft (9-30pm-11-50pm) – The Range, Soton Rd – offender cut fence to enter compound – items stolen
04/04/19 – Theft (approx. 5-30pm) – City Hall – offender stole handbag which had been left unattended for short period – bank cards later used to make payments nearby
Alderbury community area

30/03/19 – Burglary (overnight) – Wick Lane Downton – offender forced entry to 5 sheds at allotments – damage caused and tools stolen
31/03/19 – Burglary – Landford – see below witness appeal
01/04/19 – Criminal Damage (7-40pm) – Nunton – offender caused damage to CCTV camera put in place after previous crimes
02/04/19 – Theft (o/night) – Whaddon – offender climbed fence to building site, stole ground workers tools and chop saw
02/04/19 – Burglary (o/night) – Charlton-All-Saints – offender smashed window and forced lock to enter garage, stole chainsaw and other items – nearby garage also entered
Wilton community area

30/03/19 – Burglary (2am-8am) – Oakley Lane, Wilton – offender entered house via insecure rear door, stole handbag and contents
01/04/19 – Burglary (o/night) – Olivier Rd, Wilton – offender gained entry to 2 sheds, stole tools and fishing equipment
04/04/19 – Burglary (over 7 day period) – Ebbesbourne Wake – offender forced entry to garage and stole large quantity of garden power tools (Stihl hedgecutters and chainsaws)
Motocross bike stolen in burglary in Landford
We're appealing for information following a burglary at an address in Landford. 

A motocross bike was stolen during the incident which happened at an address in Partridge Hill at approximately 2.30am on Sunday 31 March. 

A fence chain was cut and a hedge was damaged during the incident.

The motocross bike is a 140cc 10TEN pit bike – (a photograph of the bike is on our Facebook page)

Also stolen was a leaf blower and a bottle of alcohol. 

It is believed the offenders made off along Giles Lane.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area overnight between 10pm on 30 March and 7am on 31 March, should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190031277.

Man charged after officers assaulted in Salisbury
A man has been charged after two officers were assaulted in Salisbury on Thursday morning (April 4)

Mark Day, aged 32, of Roman Meadow, Downton, has been charged with two counts of assaulting an officer, affray, possession of a knife/bladed article in a public place, threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a class B drug.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on Sat April 6
