2019 - Community Speed Watch - CSW
Supporting Community Speedwatch is an ongoing Priority for West Wiltshire CPT (Community Policing Team). This is all part of our commitment to improving road safety, reducing road traffic collisions and improving the quality of life for residents and the public. CSW is possible in areas where data about speeding has been collected and there is a sufficient issue to support a CSW team, and it is safe enough for volunteer CSW teams to do speed checks.
There are currently around 27 CSW schemes up and running in West Wiltshire. This includes 8 locations in Melksham Community Area Board boundary. These are Berryfields, Lowbourne, Snowberry Lane, Shaw, Beanacre, Atworth and Steeple Ashton
Every 2 weeks, 4 CSW Schemes across the West Wiltshire area are selected for additional CPT targeting and  enforcement to supplement the CSW team planned sessions
THE STATS - So far in 2019 the CPT has;

Conducted 96 Patrols and speed checks on top of those done by the CSW teams

Given 28 Persons given verbal warnings for their speed

Issued 7 tickets to speeding drivers

The current locations until the 24th July are:
Dilton Marsh
Snowberry Lane
Can I please remind you all, that any crimes need to be reported via 101, or 999 in an emergency. I am unable to take reports of crime via e-mail.
