Witness appeal after serious road collision

Alert message sent 15/09/2019 13:32:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We're appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision in Westbury.

At approximately 10.30am today (15/09) a white BMW collided with a stationary lorry parked on the West Wilts Trading Estate in the town.

The driver of the BMW, a local man in his 20s, was seriously injured and was airlifted by air ambulance to Southmead hospital in Bristol.

There was no-one else travelling in the car and no-one in the lorry at the time of the collision.

PC Peter Williamson, from Wiltshire Police's Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We are investigating how this vehicle ended up colliding with this parked truck on what is a straight stretch of road in broad daylight.
"We are asking anyone who may have seen a white BMW in the area just before this incident to come forward; perhaps there was something unusual about it or the way it was being driven.
"We'd also like anyone who may have dash-cam footage of this vehicle to contact us."

If you can help with our enquiries please contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
