CRIME UPDATE (MELKSHAM) – 14/10/19 – 21/10/19

SELLS GREEN, SEEND, MELKSHAM, (ED13) Between 1000-1200 hours on the 16th Oct an offender has stolen a secured bright orange Honda suitcase generator from a narrow boat on the canal.

ST ANDREWS CHURCH, CHURCH LANE, MELKSHAM, (ED11) Sometime between the 12-17th Oct offenders have stolen lead from the roof of a church resulting in rain damage within the church.

Crime - Violence Against the Person

WOODCOMBE, MELKSHAM, (ED11) At around 0020 hours on the 20th Oct Police were called to a disorder where a male suspect has punched to the head. On arrival the offender had left the scene in a car, but was later stopped and arrested on suspicion of assault. The male, in his 30’s from the Melksham area was later released RUI (Under Police Investigation)

GREENFINCH CLOSE, MELKSHAM (ED12) At around 1030 hours a vehicle has been travelling at speed in Snowberry Lane and later abandoned. Police recovered and seized the vehicle for no insurance.

MARKET PLACE, MELKSHAM, (ED11) Officers on patrol conducted a stop check on a moving vehicle. The driver was found to be using a Provisional Licence. The vehicle was seized and recovered for not having valid insurance and the male reported for the related traffic offences

A350, MELKSHAM, (ED12) On the 14th Oct Police officers on patrol stop checked a vehicle. The vehicle was declared as SORN “off Road” with DVLA, so it was seized and recovered  due to being in breach of SORN. The driver has been reported.

15/10/2019 21:36
A350, MELKSHAM, (ED12) At around 2128 hours on the 15th Oct a Police unit stopped a vehicle which was seen travelling at speed. Checks showed the driver was disqualified, and the vehicle therefore had no insurance. The male was arrested for taking a motor vehicle without consent, having no insurance, and no valid driving licence. The vehicle seized and recovered under section 165. Charlie GUNNING, 23, of Dilton Marsh, Westbury attended Salisbury Mags on the 16th Oct. He was given a 4 month prison sentence (suspended for 2 years), a rehabilitation order and ordered to pay costs/fees of £207.

A350, MELKSHAM, (ED12) At around 1522 hours on the 18th Oct Police on patrol stopped a vehicle after it was witnessed as driving all over the road. Police enquiries led to the vehicle being seized and removed for no insurance.
