Alert message sent 01/12/2019 18:03:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We're appealing for witnesses after a black Bentley Continental was found abandoned in Wichelstowe.

Officers were called around 1.30pm today (01/12) to a Bentley driving at high speed on the M4 between junctions 15 and 16; the driver failed to stop and an authorised pursuit took place.

The car came off at junction 16 and headed towards Wroughton.  Officers lost sight of the vehicle at one point but then located it on Barbrook Road, Wichelstowe at 1.45pm

It's believed two occupants - a male and female - left the vehicle.

A 40-year-old man from Surrey has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for officers and is currently in custody.

The female is still outstanding.

We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this distinctive vehicle driving at speed or erratically and anyone acting suspiciously in the Wichelstowe area around this time.

We are also appealing for anyone who may have dash cam footage of this car.

If you can help, please contact us on 101 quoting crime reference number 54190119094.

A picture of the car can be found in this link.
