CRIME UPDATE (MELKSHAM)  – 25/11/19 – 02/12/19

Crime – Possession of Weapon offences

SOMERSET CRESCENT, (ED11) Following a report of a disorder, the Police attended and located a male suspect in possession of a knife located in his pocket. The male was arrested for this, and on suspicion of affray and threats to kill. Elliot OZTEOMAN, 38 from Melksham, was later charged and remanded to court where he was given a prison sentence of 6 months and £122 in costs.

CHURCH STREET, (ED11) At around 0100 hours on 25/11 a disorder was heard outside a property. The victim checked in the morning and discovered that a pot on her doorstep had been smashed.

Crime - Violence Against the Person

WOODROW ROAD, (ED12) Following a report of a disorder, Police attended an address to find a female youth on the roof of a building. The youth was detained, but in the process assaulted 3 Police officers. The youth was arrested and charged with assault Police. She will appear at Youth court at a later date.

FOREST ROAD, (ED11) Between the 12th and 28th Nov an offender has gained entry to a secure compound and stolen a generator from a transit van which was parked and unattended.

HIGH STREET, (ED11) At around 1500 hours on the 28th Nov officers on duty stop checked two males who were acting suspiciously. A search was searched and found to be in possession of several bags of a white powder believed to be class A drugs. The male arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A. The male, in his 20’s from Melksham was later released RUI (Under Police Investigation)

MARKET PLACE, (ED11) following a non-injury road traffic collision, both drivers stopped to exchange details. A male suspect has then become agitated, grabbed the victim by the throat and pulled him to the ground. Minor injury only.

Crime - Burglary Residential (Dwelling)

MURRAY WALK, (ED11) At around 1725 hours offenders have entered a property via an unlocked front door. They have located a  safe and taken a suitcase which contained passports and documents and taken jewellery from a bedroom before making off in a vehicle, possibly a white VW Golf or similar.

CHURCH LANE,  (ED11) Overnight on the 29th Nov an offender has used unknown implement to smash the rear window of a parked and unattended car whilst it was parked on a driveway.

HORNCHURCH ROAD, BOWERHILL, (ED12) Overnight on the 30th Nov an offender has caused a dent in the rear passenger door of a parked and unattended vehicle.
