A  man has been sentenced after being caught drug driving in Trowbridge. 

In the early hours of Friday 24 January, officers stopped a black Audi A3 on the White Horse Business Park.  

The 24-year-old male driver was suspected of driving under the influence and tested positive during a roadside drug swipe. 

He was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of cocaine, driving whilst disqualified and having no insurance. 

Benjamin Cavill of no fixed address appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court later that same day and pleaded guilty to the charges of driving whilst disqualified and with no insurance.  He was given an 18 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. 

He also pleaded guilty to the same offences of driving whilst disqualified and with no insurance which took place on Saturday 11 January on County Way, Trowbridge.  He received a 12 week custodial sentenced, suspended for 12 months which will run concurrently with the other sentence. 

He has also been disqualified from driving for 28 months, ordered to pay £85 court costs and £122 in victim surcharges.
