Alert message sent 09/03/2020 14:42:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died following a collision on the A36 near Warminster.

We were called shortly before 10.40am this morning (9/3) to a collision between a motorcyclist and a van on the section of the A36 between the Crockerton and Heytesbury roundabouts.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s from the Westbury area, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this very sad time.

The male driver of the Ford Transit van was not injured and remained at the scene. No arrests have been made.

The road remains closed at this stage while collision investigation work is carried out.

We are appealing for anyone with information, including anyone who may have dash cam footage which may assist our enquiries, to call us.

If you can help please call the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting log 89 of today (9/3). Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
