HAMPTON PARK WEST, MELKSHAM, (ED12) Following a routine stop check of a vehicle by officers on patrol. The driver of the vehicle was found to have no insurance. The vehicle was seized and the driver reported for driving offences related to no insurance.

A365 THE SPA SOUTH AND EAST TO VERNON FARM, BOWERHILL, (ED12) Following information received, officers attended an address and breath tested an adult female who had just been driving. The female failed the test and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drink driving. Elizabeth Barnes, 50, of Cranesbill Road, Melksham was later released and charged with driving whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit and will appear at Salisbury Mags on the 27th March.

LONGFORD ROAD, MELKSHAM, (ED11) an offender has stolen a set of aluminium ladders from the roof of a parked an unattended car.

COUNTRYWIDE FARMERS ROUNDABOUT, A350, MELKSHAM, UK (ED12) Officers carried out a routine stop of a car travelling at speed from Devizes into Melksham. The female driver was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs after providing a positive drugs wipe. The female, in her 30’s from Devizes has been released RUI (Under Police Investigation) while further enquiries are carried out.

A3102 SANDRIDGE COMMON, MELKSHAM, (ED12) Officers on mobile patrol stop checked a moving vehicle. Following enquiries, it was suspected the male driver did not have a valid driving licence or vehicle insurance. The male, in his 20’s from Warminster, was reported for no licence and no insurance. His vehicle was seized and removed from the road.

HIGH STREET, MELKSHAM, (ED11) Officers on patrols stop checked a vehicle. The officers carried out a road side breath test and subsequently arrested the male driver on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol. Shane Donohue, 31, from Galway, Ireland was released and charged with Driving whilst over the prescribed limit of alcohol and remanded to Swindon court.

MCDONALDS, BEANACRE ROAD, MELKSHAM, (ED11) Between 1750 and 1805 hours an offender stole an insecure Specialized mountain bike in red. The bike was later returned.

Crime – Vehicle offences

SWEET BRIAR ROAD, MELKSHAM, (ED11) Between 0900 and 2030 hours offenders have stolen a BMW car from a driveway by unknown means, and have then crashed it into a ditch on the B3414 Bath Road, near the A36 Granada roundabout. Enquiries ongoing but it is believed the suspect may have connections to the victim.

PLACE ROAD, MELKSHAM,  (ED11) At around 0200-0230 hours an offender has thrown a large rock at the front window of a property causing it to smash. Enquiries are ongoing, as the offender may be known to the victim.

A365 THE SPA SOUTH AND EAST TO VERNON FARM, BOWERHILL, (ED12) Between 1100-1600 hours an offender has smashed the key lock to a garage, used the key to gain access and has stolen a pit bike from within. The bike has yellow cowling.
