Arrests made after pursuit of suspicious vehicle

Officers successfully pursued a silver Land Rover in the early hours of this morning (17/04) after it failed to stop. 

A patrol attempted to stop the vehicle at the Commonhead Roundabout in Swindon at around 12.30am. 

Officers were then authorised to pursue the Discovery which made off towards Liddington, then Wanborough; it then continued to Hinton Parva, through Aldbourne and Baydon before crashing through a fence and in to a field near Lambourne where it stopped. 

The police helicopter was also scrambled and helped in the pursuit. 

Four men got out of the vehicle but were soon arrested nearby on suspicion of stealing a vehicle and criminal damage.  The driver was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. 

The following men were arrested: 

A 34-year-old from Reading
A 28-year-old from the Cricklade area
A 27 and 23-year-old from South Cerney 

They all currently remain at Gablecross in custody.
