Witness appeal after Salisbury burglary

Alert message sent 20/04/2020 10:26:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Salisbury over the weekend.

It happened at a property in Australian Avenue between 12noon and 12.30pm on Saturday (18/04/20).

The offender gained entry by climbing up a drainpipe and entering through a rear upstairs window, while the occupants were out for their daily exercise.

Jewellery and computers were stolen, as well as a car, which was parked outside the address. The stolen vehicle was later recovered on the Hampshire/Surrey border.

Det Con Vicki Gregg, from Salisbury CID, said: "We are appealing for anyone with information, including anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area on Saturday, to call us.

"The stolen car, a green Lexus, was missing its front number plate so is more likely to have caught people's attention.

"If you think you saw this car being driven away from the address, or if you have private CCTV or dash cam footage which might assist us, please get in touch."

Anyone who can help should call Salisbury CID on 101, quoting crime reference 54200036944. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
