Alert message sent 20/04/2020 11:43:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We are trying to trace two witnesses after tools were stolen from a work van parked outside a Devizes primary school.

The theft of two leaf blowers happened at around 11.45am last Thursday (16/04/20) outside Nursteed Primary School, in Brickley Lane.

Officers arrived at the scene quickly and carried out extensive enquiries, including arresting a 27-year-old man on suspicion of theft.

He has been interviewed and since released under investigation while our enquiries continue.

PCSO Georgie Dodd, from the Devizes Area Community Policing Team, said: “We know that two people saw the theft happen and alerted the workmen, who called the police.

“However, we have been unable to locate them.

“We are also particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a man with a child on a bicycle nearby, or a man driving a dark-coloured car at the time of the theft.

“Also, if you have seen leaf blowers for sale in unusual circumstances, then please call us.”

Anyone with information should call Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting crime reference 54200036299. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
