Alert message sent 16/06/2020 15:17:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We're appealing for witnesses after an incident in Ludgershall.

At approximately 11.45am on Saturday 13 June,  a man was walking with his partner and baby along Tidworth Road, close to the junction with Simonds Road, when an unknown male shouted racial abuse from a passing vehicle.

PC Nicola Blake said: "We'd like to speak to anyone who was in this area of the town on Saturday.
"There would have been several people around as it was the weekend and in broad daylight.
"If you heard or saw anything suspicious taking place around this time, please contact us on 101 quoting crime reference number 54200056282."

Alternatively, you can report it anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A 19-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and has been released under investigation.

If you've been a victim of racial abuse, we'd encourage you to report it by calling 101 or visit the True Vision website at www.report-it.org.uk.
