Man arrested after getting stuck in window

Alert message sent 18/06/2020 08:51:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

Officers helped colleagues from the fire and rescue service free a suspected burglar who was stuck in a window of a property in Swindon.

We were called to the address, on Groundwell Road just before 1am today (18/06), by the fire service who had received a call from a man in his 50s saying he was stuck.

Officers gained entry to the derelict building and managed to help free the man who was hanging upside down because his leg had become trapped in a window.  Once freed, the man admitted to officers that he did not live in the property.

A 53-year-old local man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of burglary and possessing a Class A drug.  He is currently in custody at Gablecross Police Station.
