A Swindon man who stole valuables from motor vehicles in the town has been jailed for six months.

Neil Bambrick, aged 38, of no-fixed address, pleaded guilty to the thefts from vehicles, attempted thefts from vehicles and subsequent fraudulent transactions using the bank details from one of the victims.

Bambrick was arrested on suspicion of these incidents on Friday 17 July and subsequently charged on Saturday 18 July;  he appeared before Swindon Magistrates the same day where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a total of 25 weeks in prison.

It follows a recent series of thefts from motor vehicles in the Tadpole Garden Village area.

"It allowed us to find and arrest Neil Bambrick quickly and so secure a significant result."
