Alert message sent 21/07/2020 11:09:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a man in the Old Town area of Swindon.

On Friday 17 July, at approximately 7.30pm, a man was walking along Devizes Road between the Little Hop Inn and the Yak Himalayan restaurant when he was assaulted by another man.

The suspect then got in to a waiting silver Mercedes which drove off from the area.  He's described as white, in his early to mid-20s with fair hair, wearing beige clothes and tight trousers.

PC Keith Larkworthy said:  "This was an unprovoked attack which left the victim feeling very distressed; luckily he was physically unharmed.
"Old Town on Friday evening would have been busy and we would like to hear from anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in this area around this time.
"If you can help us in anyway, please call 101 quoting crime reference number 54200071135.
"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to report anonymously."
