Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

Officers investigating a robbery in Salisbury are appealing for any witnesses, dash cam or CCTV footage which could help their enquiries.

At approximately 10.20pm on July 23, a 72-year-old man was assaulted in Brown Street near to the Baptist Church and his wallet was also stolen during the incident.

He sustained a head injury and was taken to Salisbury District Hospital where he remains receiving treatment.

Enquiries conducted following the incident led to a 31-year-old man being located and arrested on suspicion of robbery. He has since been interviewed and released on conditional bail while further enquiries are carried out.

Det Con Hannah Milburn said: “This was a violent incident which has left a man with a serious head injury. While we have made an arrest, we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have seen or heard anything suspicious. As well as this we’d be interested in hearing from anyone who was driving in the area who may have dash cam footage or anyone with CCTV which could help our investigation.”

If you can help, call 101 and quote crime reference number 54200072796.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
