Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

Officers have arrested two men following a disorder at a Swindon petrol station this morning (04/08).

At around 8.20am, we were called to a report that two men had arrived in a van at the Texaco garage on Queens Drive and attempted to assault the car wash workers with metal poles.

Officers arrived soon after the call and arrested two men on suspicion of affray.  A 23-year-old and 27-year-old from Swindon are currently in custody at Gablecross Police Station.

Sgt Joe Senior said:  "Our officers reacted quickly to the call and managed to apprehend two suspects.
"I appreciate this location is on a busy main road and in a residential area and members of the public may have seen what happened.
"I want to reassure people that we believe both parties were known to each other and no-one was hurt during the incident."
