Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire and Swindon NHW

Dear NHW member,
Wiltshire Neighbourhood Watch continues to focus on supporting NHW schemes across Wiltshire and Swindon.  In doing so, it supports the strategic intention of Wiltshire Police to revitalise neighbourhood policing within its overall strategy to deliver a 'Policing Model fit for the Future'.  Notwithstanding the need to manage the additional demands of COVID-19, there is clear evidence that the re-introduction of neighbourhood policing is achieving success in re-building confidence within local communities who are reporting improved communication and collaboration with local police officers and PCSO's.  Clearly, where possible, Wiltshire NHW would wish to be seen as a key partner in supporting Wiltshire Police in developing and strengthening principles of neighbourhood policing across Wiltshire and Swindon.
This communication is specifically aimed at listed NHW members/co-ordinators in Swindon and its surrounding area.  Its intention is twofold:
1.  To inform Swindon NHW scheme members of the strategic intention of Wiltshire Police to revitalise neighbourhood policing in Swindon and surrounding areas.  For more information please visit www.wiltshire.police.uk where you will find a link on the home page 'Your Area'.  A link to Swindon CPT (Community Policing Team) will enable you to identify local officers and PCSO's who form the neighbourhood policing team for different areas of Swindon.
2.  To request your assistance in confirming your membership of a local NHW scheme, giving its name and/or locality and indicating whether your membership includes being a scheme co-ordinator.  A response message to confirm this information would be appreciated and should be sent to wnhwa.chair@gmail.com

As Chair of Wiltshire Neighbourhood Watch Association, I am conscious that more still needs to be done to engage and inform NHW scheme members to support crime prevention initiatives and closer collaboration with Wiltshire Police who also seek to improve links with NHW.
A recently revised Wiltshire NHW information flyer is now available, as are NHW window stickers.  If you would like to receive these, do indicate an approximate number in your communication.
Our website www.wiltshirenhw.org provides information on purchasing NHW street signs.  Crime prevention information and much more can also be found on the excellent national NHW Network's website www.ourwatch.org.uk
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to convey my 'thanks' and appreciation for your continued support of NHW in your local area and your efforts in helping keep your local area safe and as free from crime as possible.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank-you...
Paul Sunners
