Alert message sent 21/08/2020 17:14:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

A suspect has been identified following an incident on a bus in Salisbury and our release of CCTV images.

The incident took place on 7 June - the bus, which was being driven from Amesbury to Salisbury, stopped on Castle Street after the driver became aware that a dog belonging to a man on the top deck had been sick and had defecated in the bus.

As the bus pulled over, the owner of the dog came downstairs and verbally and racially abused the driver in an aggressive manner.

Subsequently and as part of our investigation, we issued CCTV images of a man we wanted to speak to in relation to this.

A member of the public then contacted us with information and as a result a 30-year-old local man has now been identified and invited in for interview.
