Alert message sent 16/10/2020 08:35:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We are appealing for witnesses after a boy was robbed at knife-point in Tidworth.

The incident happened around 4.30pm on Sunday 11 October on a grassed area near a play park on Pennings Road.

The 12-year-old victim was threatened with a knife by what's believed to be a group of youths who took his bag containing some money.  Although shaken and upset, the boy was unharmed.

Det Con Caroline Biggs said: "This was a distressing incident for the boy and luckily he was unhurt.
"I can understand this type of incident will be of concern to the local community and I can assure everyone in the town that we are doing everything to find these suspects.
"The area it happened in is next to a busy road so I believe someone would have seen or heard something - especially as it was still daylight.
"If you noticed anything suspicious in this area around this time and on this date, please contact us on 101 quoting crime reference number 54200102404."

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
