Speed checks carried out in Royal Wootton Bassett

Alert message sent 19/01/2021 11:23:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

We were out conducting speed checks yesterday afternoon (18/01).

PC Beales of the Road Policing Unit and PC Giddings of the response team jointly conducted checks on Station Road and the High Street.

We had a really good response and are pleased that we did not need to issue any tickets or words of advice, so thank you.

While roads may be quieter during the national lockdown, when people should only get in their cars for essential travel, we’d like to remind all road users the dangers of the fatal four offences - speeding, using a mobile phone, not having a seat belt on and drink or drug driving.

Any of these four increase the risk of a collision resulting in a life-changing injury or fatality and are easily preventable.

Please drive safely and with consideration of others. Thank you.
