STOP. Taking a moment to stop and think before parting with your money or information could keep you safe

CHALLENGE. Is this person really who they say they are?
Could their number be spoofed? It’s ok to refuse any requests for financial or person details

PROTECT Contact your bank immediately if you think you’ve fallen for a scam and report it to Action Fraud if you’re in Scotland and can report it to Police Scotland on 101

Just because someone knows a few basic details about you, it doesn’t mean they are genuine.
The police or your bank will never contact you out of the blue to ask for your PIN, password, or to transfer money to another account.
