Alert message sent 06/03/2022 21:01:00

Information sent on behalf of Wiltshire Police

Good evening,

Some of you may recognise me, having previously worked in the Trowbridge Area. After some time working in another station, I have returned to the Trowbridge Neighbourhood Policing Team.

When speaking with the community, one of the things I have been asked to reintroduce are the daily / weekly crime updates and suitable crime prevention advice.

Please find below details relating to the Community Impactive Crimes that have occurred over the last 7 days in the Trowbridge area.
Crime - Theft
PARK ROAD – At approximately 16:10 a male has approached a 15 year old youth and demanded that he hand over items.

Crime – Possession of a Bladed Article
BYTHESEA ROAD – At approximately 22:20 officers had cause to stop a vehicle. The vehicle and it’s driver, a 42 year old male from the Westbury area, were subject to a search whereby a Bladed Article and a quantity of Cannabis were located.
Enquiries are still ongoing.

Crime – Burglary
SHAILS LANE – At approximately 20:30 local officers were called to an address following reports of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival persons were located within the address.
A 21 year old male and an 18 year old male from the Chippenham area, and a 15 year old female from the Trowbridge area were subsequently arrested on suspicion of Burglary and have been released pending further enquiries.

Crime – Theft
BRADLEY ROAD – At approximately 15:00 a handbag was stolen when left unattended for a short time.
Crime Prevention Advice –
Never leave your bag unattended, particularly on shopping trollies and be aware of people around you
Carry your bag close to you with the clasp facing inwards
Keep it zipped up, and make sure your wallet or purse can’t be seen
Avoid carrying large amounts of cash and spread your possessions about
Never carry PIN numbers with any cards.

Please note that whilst there have been other community impactive incidents that have occurred, I have not mentioned these as they have already been reported separately by Trowbridge Police via the media.
If there is anything else that you would like to see sent out via community messaging, then please do not hesitate to let me know.
