Please find below details relating to the Community Impactive Crimes that have occurred between Monday 28th March and Sunday 3rd April in the Trowbridge area.
Vehicle Crime                  28/03/2022
Yeoman Way – Suspect(s) have accessed an unlocked vehicle parked on driveway. Search conducted inside, nothing was stolen.
Vehicle Crime                  28/03/2022
Rutland Crescent – Suspect(s) have accessed a vehicle and stolen power tools from within.
When parking your vehicle :
Try to park somewhere open and well lit
Lock up – including the boot
Remember to close the windows and sunroof
Don’t leave anything on show in your car when you park
If you have a removeable sat nav, remove it and take it with you. Remove the mounting, polish any marks off the windscreen and hide the cable and mounting
Store car ownership information at home, not in your car
Try not to store things in the boot.
Vehicle Crime                  29/03/2022
New Road – Motorcyle parked at the front of address has been stolen overnight.
Suspicious Incident         29/03/2022
Suspect has contacted elderly female victim and asked her to withdraw large amount of money from her bank, stating that they would contact her later in the day to advise her where to send the money.
Safety on the telephone :
Never agree to anything over the phone. Don’t be shy of just hanging up on cold callers
Never reply to unsolicited text messages
Never give any personal information over the telephone unless you made the call and are certain of who you are speaking to
Remember scammers often pretend to be from legitimate, well know, national or global companies like banks or utilities providers.
Traffic                                30/03/2022
Westbury Road – Report of 2 vehicle road traffic collisions, whereby one vehicle failed to stop at the scene. 21 year old male from the Warminster area was identified as the driver of the vehicle, and has been reported for Failing to Stop following a collision, Failing to report a collision, No Insurance, No ‘L’ Plates and Driving otherwise in accordance of a license.
Theft                                  01/04/2022
Market Street – Whilst victim has been on the bus her purse has been stolen. Purse contained approximately £300 in cash.
When out and about :
Never leave your bag unattended, particularly on shopping trollies and be aware of people around you at all times
Carry your bag close to you with the clasp facing inwards
Keep it zipped up, and make sure your wallet or purse can’t be seen
Avoid carrying valuables or large amounts of cash and spread your possessions about. For example, consider keeping your mobile phone separate from your keys and your store or credit cards separate from your purse
Finally, never carry PIN numbers with any cards.

Please note that whilst there have been other community impactive incidents that have occurred, I have not mentioned these as they have either already been reported separately by Trowbridge Police via the media or we are unable to provide details due to ongoing investigations.
